Meet the Prospective 2023 Executive Board of Directors


The annual association meeting December 6th, will not be a pot luck. The board will be treating everyone to some yummy Christmas cheer.


Get to know those who will be responsible for moving Kensington Park forward in the coming year.


President- Gena Allison-

Gena has been a Kensington Park resident for over 20 years and is the 2022 incumbent President.

She has been associated with the KPCA Executive Board in several capacities since 2004.

This year, she has spearheaded the enhancements to the neighborhood entrances and our participation in the Keep Sarasota County Beautiful program, for which she previously served as Vice Chair for 6 years.


Her relevant training includes Civics 101 and Civic 101 Act II training from Sarasota County and two certifications from the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Organization (NAHRO).


Vice President- Mary Jo Pribe

Mary Jo has been a resident of Sarasota County since 1977.

And a Proud home owner and resident of Kensington Park for 42 years.


Mary Jo is currently serving as Secretary of Kensingtn Park Civic Association.

Mary Jo has been an Active Licensed Realtor since 1984 and was the previous owner of JoJo's Stadium cafe.

Mary Jo stays currently active with Fed Ex.

As well as being a Musician and Performer, with Gypsy Soul Band/Duo.

Second Vice President- Julio Rubio

Julio has been a resident of Kensington Park for 12 years.

Born in Peru, but has been an American citizen for 18 years.

Julio has a degree in Economics.

And was employed by the Peruvian government.

Julio is excited to invite and integrate more members of the Latino community into our association and volunteering events.

Julio currently works at Publix


Secretary- John Whitmire

John is a relative newcomer to Kensington Park, having married into the neighborhood in 2018.


He joined the current board as 2nd Vice President in July 2022.

Before retiring in 2021, John worked in computer software development for over 40 years, and he served as Secretary/Treasurer, Vice President, and later President of a non-profit ministry in Sarasota from 2003 to 2018.


His educational background includes degrees in Business Administration, Data Processing, Electrical Engineering, and Engineering Management, plus a Teaching Certificate from Sarasota Bible College.

Treasure- Kathleen Jones

Kathleen has been a resident of Kensington Park since 1984.

She joined the KPCA Board of Directors in 2005 after retiring from nursing.


Kathleen has served as Treasurer, Vice President and President during the last 17 years while taking a year or two off for good behavior.

She and her husband have raised two children here in Kensington Park and both as adults consider this home.

Kathy is looking forward to another year as treasure, with many new community opportunities in 2023.
